Hi all,
Re. Image_QRCode package proposal - the vote result indicated the package
was accepted, but I'm aware that there were a couple of conditional votes
based on adding tests and some refactoring. I've now added some tests and

my pear website account
I have been talking with Alexey Borzov <borz_off@cs.msu.su> and have
written a smarty renderer for HTML_Quickform2.
He says that the best way of getting this included into PEAR is as a subproject of QF2.
I ought to ''set up a PEPr proposal for it''. I went to:

and logged in, to be told: ''ERROR: * Insufficient Privileges''
My account name is ''addw''. Why can I not set up the PEPr ?

[PEAR-DEV] Pear Documentation problem
Hello,
Two weeks ago, I updated the documentation about a package (PHP_UML) but the
modifications I made are still not visible online.
Maybe there's something wrong with my XML files, but I cannot find what.
Is there any simple way to find where the pb comes from? (a log file for
example)
Thanks

PEAR Exceptions
Hi list.
I'm not sure if this is a known issue or not, by I just realised that
PEAR_Exception implements __toString(). Since this is used by the
internal exceptions-handler, the result is used for logging, when the
ini directive "log_errors" is set. The problem with this is that
__toString will return a HTML-formatted string, which makes a mess of
the logfile. I dojn't think it's appropriate for PEAR_Exception to
implement this method; That should be left for the error handler to
cope with.

Image_Canvas: How to correct font-size with bc-breakage in mind
Hi,
it turns out that during creation of the Image_Canvas-package one thing
was overlooked: Since GD2 (which I suspect most people use nowadays) the
TTF-functions use a font-size with points instead of pixels. And yes,
that makes quite some difference :-)
In the API (phpdoc) it's documented that the font-size is given in
pixels. So actually according to the API-doc a correction-factor is
needed for TTF-functions for everything using Image_Canvas with GD2.
However on the other hand one might possibly assume that quite a number
of people used it with GD as their canvas-type. So th

Was wondering what you guys suggest -- so far, we don't have a Parser

Would that require a new category?
Seems overkill if it's just gonna be for a single new package.

Deploying scheduled jobs with PEAR
Hi,
Consider the situation where you have one or more applications installed using
PEAR, and each of them need to set up some scheduled jobs ("cron jobs").
Does anyone have a good existing solution for this using PEAR?
The logical way I can come up with doing it so far is this:
- create a new file role called "scheduledjob" or something, which
installs into a special directory
- define (by convention) that files installed using that role are in a
specific format (say, for example, the typical crontab format like
"*/5 * * * * php /path/to/script.php"). Naturally, th

However when trying to fix a couple more bugs I realized the following

Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer is hopelessly outdated. At the time it was

Hi all,
I've been able to close a few bugs since taking over maintenance of

PHPTAL package name
I've been informed on #pear that PHPTAL package should be renamed to =
HTML_Template_PHPTAL. That category definitely suits the project, but as =
far as I'm aware, this also requires change of package name and class =

Just change of package name doesn't sound very bad, it'll only require =

I'm wondering if anyone is actively working on Date anymore? It hasn't
seen a stable release in almost 3 years and the last development in
SVN appears to be almost 8 months ago. We use this quite extensively

If the current developers don't have time to work on it, I'd be happy

Redirect (and cookies) support in HTTP_Request2 / HTTP_Client2?
Hi,
I'd like to gather some feedback on how to properly implement redirect and
cookies support in HTTP_Request2 and / or HTTP_Client2.
First, a bit of background. Redirect support was first done in HTTP_Request by
its original author, but as the class wasn't designed from the ground up for
performing multiple requests, redirect implementation was a bit of a hack. It is
currently disabled by default and its use is discouraged.
HTTP_Client has a cleaner implementation, it uses a new instance of HTTP_Request
for doing a redirect, has proper code for resolving relative URLs.

QuickForm2 development
Hi,
As some of you probably noticed, we made a new release of HTML_QuickForm2 after
a 2 year pause. The new release has Groups and Renderers implemented and thus is
a large step towards porting all the features of current QuickForm 3.x
The new Renderers may also have plugins, this will allow creating elements like
current "advmultiselect" without having to duplicate complex rendering logic in
the element itself.
If anyone already tried to use the new features, don't hesitate to give feedback.
There are changes to Rules implementation in current SVN, allowing to leverage

Using the pear installer (or pyrus) as an application deployment tool

Now, I'm a (really) long time pear-user and follower of this list, but
never had the need of developing my own package.xml-based package.
I user the pear installer on a regular basis, but I have some specific
questions, which I hope can be answered here.
1. Since every deployment would need it's own pear

Regarding System_Socket
When I've looked at the socket interface in php I've felt it been a
bit low level and where looking for an more OO alternative; I found
System_Socket in your PEAR repository, but it hasn't been updated in a
while and marked as unmaintained. I would love to take over this
package, and possibly rewrite it from scratch.
I haven't been involved in PEAR development before; I've not used the
current System_Socket package in production, but my work as software
developer for the Bubba Server has made me written an own OO interface
(although limited at the moment) to in a clean way handle con

proposal > package
Hey guys,
I was looking for Services_ShortURL last night and noticed that even
though it was accepted, it never made it to the website.
http://pear.php.net/pepr/index.php?filter=finished
Is there a filter to see which packages were accepted but never added,
and then how do we go about adding them? :-)
