I am using Net_DNS extensively in a load of high profile sites and have

Greetings,
I would like to take over the Services_Ebay package as the lead maintainer.
Since I haven't been involved with PEAR up to this point, I'd like to give
you an overview about where I've been and what I'm all about.
I am very interested in writing code that makes other code work. I like to
get as close to ground-level as possible. My career is taking me from
computer user, to IT Support Technician, to web developer (where I'm at

HTML_Select_Common package - Follow Up
Hello All,

Hello,
I'm developing a website that requires some matrix manipulation and have
looked at the Math_matrix PEAR package, which is proving very useful.
Unfortunately there are a couple of bugs in this package and some updates to
help it work without complaint in PHP 5, as this package is currently
unmaintained I would like to volunteer to update it.
Many thanks

about a new Archive_Tar release
Hi all,
I've been able to close a few bugs since taking over maintenance of
Archive_Tar, preparing a new release is something that has slipped
through the cracks unfortunately (sorry about that!)
Now that I have some time to spend on that, I'm thinking about marking
the next release 'beta'. Even though I'm pretty confident about my
fixes, Archive_Tar is an essential package.
Any thoughts?

Services_Amazon_S3 maintainership
QA Team:
Christian has asked if I will take over development of
Services_Amazon_S3. He will remain a maintainer of the package.
I accept the offer. Upon the QA team's approval, I'll add myself to the
package and grant myself SVN access (normally this would be done by the
PEAR Group, but I'm in the PEAR Group so I can do it myself with QA's
approval).
Cheers,

Net_Dict unmaintained
A conversation in ##php/freenode the other night pointed out to me that Net_Dict is
marked as unmaintained, even though it has had a relatively recent release and the
lead developer (cnb) is marked as active.
If this package really does need a maintainer, I'd be more than happy to take it
over, as I actually use the thing from time-to-time.

net_whois maintainership
lo Seamus and fellow QA Team members ;-)
I've just created a patch for giving net_whois the ability to retrieve
authorative information on a domain, in the scenario where
humorous subdomains have been entered elsewhere.
for example if you do a barebones look up of facebook.com or
answers.com you will see various "server name" entries that obviously
aren't registered by either Facebook, Inc or the Answers Corporation.
My patch takes care of this issue by performing 2 additional lookups
and allows the user to specifiy whether or not this should occur.
As maintainer I'd implement

Currency codes as XML URI 404 (Services_ExchangeRates broken)
Hey guys,
According to http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=16753 it looks like
you've shifted around things like
http://www.unece.org/etrades/unedocs/repository/codelists/xml/CurrencyCodeList.xml
Unfortunately this means that a lot of web packages using the old
currency code uri will now be broken, and anything using PEAR's
package in particular will be broken until I can fix it.
Though I can find a HTML version of this, is there an XML version
still around under a new URI?

Killing off XML_Tree, or bringing it with us to PEAR2
Descision time, people!
XML_Tree is used lots.

> =A0 =A0* Services_ExchangeRates
> =A0 =A0* XML_FastCreate

XML_Serializer is the new goodness, but the API changes are reasonable
between the two.
Lots of the packages which use XML_Tree aren't maintained.
Here's the options:
1. Kill it. With fire. Lots of patches / rewriting for the above
packages to replace it with XML_Serializer
2. Version bump to package 2.0, lots of feature requests, kill it off
slowly but still have it kicking a

Intention to take over maintenance of File_Gettext package
Hi all --
I've been recently working on patches for Laconica (http://laconi.ca/)
