Hello! You are receiving this email because your project has been selected to take part in a new effort by the PHP QA Team to make sure that your project still works with PHP versions to-be-released. With this we hope to make sure that you are either aware of things that might break, or to make sure we don't introduce any strange regressions. With this effort we hope to build a better relationship between the PHP Team and the major projects. Weirdness with code coverage

Hello, Yesterday I checked out PHP 5.2 from svn and tried to run a code coverage. I had a problem defining the specific tests to execute using: $ make lcov TESTS=path/to/tests doing this resulted in an sh error displayed complaining about "." needing a file as parameter followed by running *all* tests. $ make test TESTS=path/to/tests however, correctly run the specified tests. The first CC= line from lcov-test rule seems odd in the generated Makefile. Regards, -- Patrick Allaert --- http://code.google.com/p/peclapm/ - Alternative PHP Monitor

SVN Karma

Hi all, For background: I am working in the IBM Project Zero team and in this job I am writing a fair number of PHPT tests for our development process. Therefore, a few weeks ago I applied for an svn id so that I would be able to commit tests directly. I was very kindly granted an id immediately, however, I have not been given any karma. My colleagues in IBM Project Zero (svn ids: nicholsr, robinf, wharmby) suggested that I fire off a quick email requesting it. Thanks for any help, William Martin

Continuous Integration Servers for php-src

--00163646dc62ec51ae04754a0749 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Hi everyone, My name is Israel Ekpo <iekpo@php.net> I am currently working on the UNIX buildbot system on the Debian server (80.82.121.134). Please review this implementation set up and let me know what you think. I just want to maintain transparent communication with all parties involved so that I don't end up straying too far from what is expected. After this continuous integration server is completed and finalized, it will be replicated across the other UNIX servers in a slave-master set up. Fo

I recently reported bug: #49692. I had already found the bug reported in #47332 which was closed as 'bogus' and commented as 'Fixed'. So, I created another bug against the version I am using (5.3.0) as I assumed that the bug had made it back into this build somehow. A prompt reply was received telling me that the bug was indeed 'Fixed - in SVN' as per t

--0016e6d999e1b9b2580474127447 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hello, A week ago, I sent a patch with IMAP tests and I did not receive any feedback so far. http://www.pastebin.ca/1563131 This is just a reminder that it exists ;) I know you folks don't have much free time. The code Coverage increased from 44.9% to 68.5% on ext/imap. Any constructive feedback welcome ! Olivier --0016e6d999e1b9b2580474127447--

Tests to commit

Hi, I'm working with the IBM team on Project Zero (with the likes of Rob Nicholson, Robin Fernandes) and I have a number of tests that I would like to submit to php.net. They cover sections of the Standard PHP Library, more specifically: spl_autoload, IteratorIterator, InfiniteIterator, NoRewindIterator and FilterIterator. I have zipped and uploaded the tests onto my own host at http://www.the-swerve.net/tests/52commit_180909.zip http://www.the-swerve.net/tests/53commit_180909.zip http://www.the-swerve.net/tests/6commit_180909.zip for each version of PHP respectively. change for ext/tidy test

Hello all, I propose the following change to my test ext/tidy/tests/030.phpt: $ diff 030.phpt.orig 030.phpt 14c14 < 'indent-attributes' => true, // Boolean --- > 'markup' => false, // Boolean 21c21 < var_dump($c['indent-attributes']); --- > var_dump($c['markup']); 27c27 < bool(true) --- > bool(false) It basically tests the same things, but should increase code coverage a bit by both including the code paths for TRUE and FALSE. I am using another configuration option since the test code ought to change the default values. Best regards Christian

This patch has been successfully tested on PHP5.3 branch. http://www.pastebin.ca/1563131 I tried to improve the code coverage, by : - adding more syntax check for functions (so that any new version does not broke function syntax) - covering more imap functions Code Coverage -------------------- Before the patch: 908/2023 (44.9%) After the patch: 1385/2023 (68.5%) All

New IMAP tests / modifications

--0016e6d99b096680d804733c88ca Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hello ! As discussed earlier, I created patches to be able to execute IMAP tests on any mail account/server (no more restricted to localhost). Patch can be applied on PHP5.3 source, as well as PHP6. http://pastebin.ca/1561244 I also wrote two new tests and add some more code coverage on existing IMAP tests. Patch is here : http://pastebin.ca/1561245 I'll write more tests tomorrow ;) Any feedback would be much appreciated ;) Olivier --0016e6d99b096680d804733c88ca--

New run-tests code

Hi all Stefan, Georg and I have been discussing making a small change in the new run-tests.php code that would make the implementation different from the current run-tests.php. At the moment when you use run-tests.php the test results can be affected by your php.ini file. This causes endless confusion for people that don't realise that they need to use the -n option to ignore their php.ini. We'd like to make ignoring the user's php.ini file the default behaviour in the new version. Does anyone see a problem with this? I think ini settings can always be controlled using the
